<image:title>The Posts - Cancer and The Environment - Air Pollution: Exposure to air pollution has been linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, particularly lung cancer. Fine particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and other pollutants released from vehicles, industrial facilities, and power plants can penetrate deep into the lungs and bloodstream, causing inflammation, oxidative stress, and DNA damage that may contribute to cancer development.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Cancer and The Environment - Water Pollution: Water is another key source of pollution. Water contaminated with high levels of arsenic is a cause of bladder cancer, and it's also been associated with skin and lung cancers. Contamination of water sources with chemicals, heavy metals, and carcinogenic substances poses a hidden yet significant risk to human health.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Cancer and The Environment - Pesticides and Herbicides: The widespread use of pesticides and herbicides in agriculture presents another environmental challenge with potential health consequences. Exposure to these chemicals, whether through direct contact with agricultural workers or residues on food, has been linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma and leukemia.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Cancer and The Environment - Food Contaminants: Food contaminants, including aflatoxins, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and other carcinogenic substances, can pose a risk to human health when consumed in contaminated food products. Aflatoxins produced by molds in grains and nuts, PAHs formed during food processing or cooking at high temperatures, and other foodborne contaminants have been associated with an increased risk of liver cancer, stomach cancer, and other malignancies.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Cancer and The Environment - Radiation Exposure: Exposure to ionizing radiation, whether from medical imaging procedures, nuclear accidents, or natural sources such as radon gas, can increase the risk of cancer. <image:title>The Posts - The Coping Mechanisms For Healthcare During the Conflict - Coping Mechanism A coping mechanism is a technique individuals use to manage stress, anxiety, or negative emotions. Coping mechanisms don’t come out of nowhere. Stressors, usually external situations or circumstances, trigger them. When these challenges arise, people usually refer to one of two types of coping mechanisms which are active coping strategies: problem-focused coping or emotion-focused coping or both.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - The Mechanisms Through Which Conflicts Affects Health Of A Community - Amid violence and insecurity, the health condition of the community is greatly compromised during the conflict. This is exemplified by a high number of both violent related and disease related morbidities and mortality in the community. This can be understood as part of a broader pattern impact of conflict where direct killing of civilians by armed personals, artilleries and armed drones’ shelling become the distinguishing feature of several recent armed conflicts. The conflict also causes tremendous consequences to health of the community in indirect ways including, the lack of electric and clean water supplies, which result in influx and outbreak of communicable diseases of. Similarly, the conflict inflicted famine and food insecurity results in an increased number of individuals and children affected by malnutrition.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - The Most Vulnerable Groups During Conflicts - Children[2]: As the frequency and intensity of disaster events increase around the globe, children are among those most at risk for the negative effects of a disaster. They represent a significant portion of those who endure the devastating long-lasting consequences of disasters. Children are a highly vulnerable group, particularly infants and young children, who are partially or totally dependent on adults.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - The Most Vulnerable Groups During Conflicts - Women[3] It is not surprising that women are generally more likely than men to suffer injuries or to be killed during disasters and that violence against women and girls may be exacerbated during emergencies. Women also face an increased burden of care tasks, such as the provision of food and water, and caring for the sick and injured following disasters and conflicts, which further impacts their participation.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - The Chain Reaction: Conflicts and Its Impact on Community Health - Famine And Food Insecurity: The conflict indirectly affects community health by destroying supply chains and social support structures causing famine and food insecurity, which leads to hunger and malnutrition. This coupled with shortage of clean water and electricity creates a fertile ground for the spread of infectious diseases such as malaria, typhoid, dysentery, and respiratory infections, which amplifies the morbidity and mortality, associated with the conflict.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Understanding the Global Shortage of Nurses and Doctors - Globally the medical sector has largely been preoccupied with cure rather than care. The countries continue to produce a large number of doctors every year, ignoring the nursing workforce, which is critical for healthcare as the spinal cord is for the human body. Nurses have a lot of patients to take care of, but are insufficient in numbers to handle them.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - How Food Insecurity Impacts Public Health - Food insecurity is highest in Sub-Saharan African Countries (SSA) countries, where nearly one-third are defined as severely insecure. It will be a huge challenge to achieve the SDGs of zero hunger by 2030. Hidden hunger is also one of the most severe types of malnutrition (micronutrient deficiencies). One in three persons suffers from inadequacies related to hidden hunger, which impacts two billion people worldwide.[2]</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Healthy Aging In a New World - Common conditions in older age include fatigue, memory loss or brain fog, muscle and/or joint pain, wrinkles, gray hair, headache, hearing loss, cataracts and refractive errors, back and neck pain and osteoarthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, depression and dementia. As people age, they are more likely to experience several conditions at the same time. Older age is also characterized by the emergence of several complex health states commonly called geriatric syndromes. They are often the consequence of multiple underlying factors and include frailty, urinary incontinence, falls, delirium and pressure ulcers.[7]</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Healthy Aging In a New World - The acceptance of aging is essential to one’s physical and emotional well-being. If one fixates on getting old, he/she is more likely to overcompensate by exercising too much or embarking on diets that may do more harm than good. By accepting aging as a process over which people have some control, one can make healthy choices whether he/she is of any age.</image:title>

<image:title>The Posts - Achieving Global Health Security - In 2007, the International Health Regulations 2005 (IHR 2005) had entered into force and all 196 state parties were legally bound to implement the core capacity require under the regulations. The IHR (2005) had a purpose and scope “to prevent, protect against, control and provide a public health response to the international spread of the disease in ways that are commensurate with and restricted to public health risks, and which avoid unnecessary interference with international traffic and trade” (2). To accelerate progress towards IHR 2005 compliance, the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) was launched in 2014 by 29 countries, WHO, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, And the World Organization for Animal Health.</image:title>
